Privacy policy

The short version: MountainCSV collects nothing. This page is the whole policy — there is no long version.

What the app collects

Nothing. MountainCSV has no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no accounts, and no update checks — the app never contacts us, or anyone else, on its own. There is no server side to this product: we could not see your data even if we wanted to.

Where your files are processed

Entirely on your own machine, by a database engine embedded in the app itself. Opening, editing, querying, charting and exporting all happen locally. Your files are never uploaded, transmitted or copied anywhere.

The one kind of network activity

MountainCSV can connect to databases — SQLite, PostgreSQL, ODBC and Oracle. The only network connections the app ever makes are the ones you explicitly configure, to your own servers. Nothing about those connections, or the data that moves over them, is ever sent to us.

If you choose to save a connection, its credentials are encrypted on your machine with AES-256-GCM under a master password that only you know. If you don't save it, the credentials aren't stored at all.

This website

mountaincsv.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics. If you email us, we use your address to reply and for nothing else.

Purchases

MountainCSV is sold through the Microsoft Store, which handles payment as the merchant of record under Microsoft's privacy statement. We never see your payment details.

Changes and contact
